I started my career as a member of guest services at Graeber & Company Salon and Spa in downtown Boise in 2003. It was here that I fell in love with the industry and wanted to figure out a way to work with my mentors forever. I was privately instructed by Mat Slater, Global Educator for Aveda while I was enrolled in cosmetology school and continued to work in the salon while finishing my license. I was lucky enough to be mentored by the best veteran stylists and educators in the area. These amazing professionals taught me as much about life as they did the industry and hair artistry. Through them, I was fortunate enough to be able to learn the history of beauty in Boise and the world.
I've traveled to many cities and have attended advanced education seminars and fashion shows. I have styled and done makeup for photo shoots, style blogs, book signings, and in 2009 I did the styling and makeup for America Ferrara from Ugly Betty. More than anything else, I really enjoy the every day life I lead behind my chair. My clientele has transcended the role of "guest" and I love that I get to call them my friends.
In August 2015 I left my salon of 12 years and started Collective Concept. It has been a dream for a long time, and it has been one of the greatest decisions I've ever made. The mission was to create a positive and creative environment for myself and my fellow artists. I love working in a space surrounded by talented stylists, awesome artwork, locally made jewelry, and a product line that practices kindness and environmental sustainability. My salon has a clean aesthetic, with charming flares around every corner. Our building is 111 years old and has beautiful exposed brick, original fixtures, and magic only found in historical architecture.
The entire goal of my career is to make women look and feel as beautiful on the outside as they are on the inside.
Creative, Positive, Champagne Aficionado
After 12 years in the beauty industry I have been completely re-inspired to help guests feel happy and beautiful while having fun.
Sustainable beauty has always been at the core of my career. After 7 years of Aveda experience I found Davines simply by loving the packaging of their Authentic Moisturizing Balm. In-depth product education is what started me on the path to becoming a Davines educator.
I love looking for dimension, depth, and volume within everything I do... from cutting hair, placing color, to finishing a style.
The love of bridal styling has grown into a new passion for me, developing events for friends and family. While I am still learning the intricacies for event coordination, I enjoy helping others find the calm within the chaos. Letting the host enjoy the moments while the details are taken care of.
My greatest goal in life is to make people laugh and feel comfortable in their own skin. Let's be friends, cheers!
